{"id":33703,"date":"2020-06-12T10:25:57","date_gmt":"2020-06-12T08:25:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.krik.rs\/?p=33703"},"modified":"2020-06-12T10:26:01","modified_gmt":"2020-06-12T08:26:01","slug":"krik-reporters-phone-confiscated-after-photographing-presidents-son","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.krik.rs\/en\/krik-reporters-phone-confiscated-after-photographing-presidents-son\/","title":{"rendered":"KRIK Reporter\u2019s Phone Confiscated After Photographing President\u2019s Son"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On Wednesday night, at around ten o\u2019clock, an unknown man\ntook away mobile phone from our journalist Bojana Pavlovi\u0107, after she had\nphotographed Danilo Vu\u010di\u0107, the son of the President of Serbia, watching a\nfootball match together with Aleksandar Vidojevi\u0107 &#8211; a hooligan close to the\nKava\u010d criminal clan. This happened in the presence of three police officers,\nwho did not react. After a short discussion and with Vidojevi\u0107&#8217;s approval, Bojana\u2019s\nphone was returned to her. KRIK demands from the Serbian Ministry of Internal\nAffairs to urgently determine and disclose who has confiscated our reporter\u2019s equipment.\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>By KRIK<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After one of our readers informed us that he saw the\npresident&#8217;s son in the company of hooligans, our journalist Bojana Pavlovi\u0107 went\nto the cafe &#8220;Piazza dei Fiori&#8221;, located in the center of Belgrade.\nThis was on Wednesday night, just before 10 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was Danilo Vu\u010di\u0107, sitting with Aleksandar Vidojevi\u0107\nand a several other men, they were watching TV broadcast of the football match\nbetween \u201cRed Star\u201d and \u201cPartizan\u201d. Vidojevi\u0107 is a member of the Partizan\u2019s fan\n(hooligan) group \u201cJanissaries\u201d and he is currently on trial for demolishing a night\nclub with other hooligans from this group. He is also listed in the Serbian\npolice database as a member of the Montenegrin Kava\u010d clan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among those gathered, KRIK journalist also recognized\nNemanja Sre\u0107kovi\u0107, hooligan from the same group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bojana photographed them from the street through the window\nof the caf\u00e9 and left. She was soon stopped by three men who introduced\nthemselves as police officers. Pavlovi\u0107 has showed them her press card, but\nthey told her that she must wait for the police patrol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They demanded that she deletes the photos from the phone\nbecause, as they said, &#8220;they may have problems&#8221;. Then two more men\napproached, but they did not act as police officers, nor did they introduce\nthemselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our journalist asked to call the editor, but one of the\nnewcomers took the phone from her hand, to which the police did not react. She\nasked persistently why her equipment was taken away, the man who took it\nresponded that he does not have to explain anything, because he is a \u201ccivilian\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vidojevi\u0107 and Sre\u0107kovi\u0107 then approached the group, and the\npolice officers left. Vidojevi\u0107 told the person who confiscated the phone to\nreturn it and it was done. He then told Bojana that KRIK is endangering his\nlife by publishing articles about him. After that they left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KRIK publicly demands from the Ministry of Internal Affairs\nto determine and disclose who took the journalist&#8217;s phone and why police did\nnot react. Journalists in Serbia, who are increasingly exposed to pressure,\nshould be allowed to do their jobs without hindrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We remind you that KRIK and OCCRP have recently published complex <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.krik.rs\/en\/bad-blood-a-war-between-montenegrin-cocaine-clans-engulfs-the-balkans\/\" target=\"_blank\">investigation about ongoing war between Montenegrin cocaine clans<\/a>. Reporters gathered documents from police, courts, and intelligence agencies and spoke to sources familiar with the Balkan criminal scene. Together, the evidence shows that the Kava\u010d-\u0160kaljari drug war has upended the region\u2019s underworld. Even some Serbian and Montenegrin police and politicians have sided with the Kava\u010d faction. And as a part of that investigation we published that Vu\u010di\u0107\u2019s son, Danilo, is friends with Aleksandar Vidojevi\u0107, they were <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.krik.rs\/predsednikov-sin-ponovo-u-drustvu-janjicara\/\" target=\"_blank\">photographed together several times<\/a>. That has immediately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krik.rs\/en\/krik-investigation-sparks-uproar-among-serbian-officials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">sparked uproar among Serbian officials<\/a>, it unleashed a barrage of coverage echoing statements from political leaders who accused KRIK journalists\u2019 of targeting the president\u2019s son on behalf of the opposition.
